The Barrens
A huge, hot savanna in central Kalimdor, mostly flat with scattered hills, held largely by the Horde. The Crossroads and Camp Taurajo are the main Horde towns, and quilboar, centaur and the Burning Blade cause trouble across the plains. Oases fed from the Wailing Caverns break up the dry grass in the north, and the goblin port of Ratchet on the eastern coast runs a boat to Booty Bay.
Hal on The Barrens
A quarter of what comes up is Deviate Fish, which is reason enough. Ratchet's coast is short and nobody bothers you, and someone has put a fishing chair on the shore. Drift south into Dustwallow and the pools get better and the murlocs get worse.
